Being a new eye health research and development institution and industrial platform jointly built by Longwan District Government and Eye Hospital of WMU, China Eye Valley is the only Visual Industry Innovation Complex in the country. With construction launched in September 2018, the park was officially opened on June 30, 2020. The central Incubator, Expo Exchange Center, and the Smart Manufacturing Park in China Eye Valley have been put into use. In November 2021, it successfully established a characteristic town of Zhejiang Province. Ever since its opening, China Eye Valley implemented in-depth the strategic development requirements of “One Center, Four High” brought about by Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee Secretary Jiajun Yuan. It’s based on the policy advantage for national high-tech zone in Wenzhou and the independent innovation demonstration zone, and relying on the medical treatment, scientific research, education, talents, advantages of Eye Hospital WMU and four state-level innovation platform of science and technology resources. The largest ophthalmic GCP clinical trial platform for phase I-IV in the country is constructed to carry out trials of research on traditional Chinese medicine and ophthalmic devices in real-world and to open up the flexible channel of national medical device registration evaluation. The domestic leading industry-academy-research system is established and development of the entire eye health industrial chain is promoted. Great effort was put in to build a cluster district of world-class R&D, industrial incubation, innovative talents, academic exchange and high-end medical with Chinese style, Zhejiang identification and Wenzhou characteristics.

Innovative elements were gathered to create a domestic leading optometric innovation service system. China Eye Valley always revolves around the idea of building a full industrial chain, sparing no effort to improve the full industrial chain of education, research, clinical, service, approval, investment, financing, incubation, pilot trial, acceleration and outbreak. We are promoting the development of the China Eye Valley Research Institute, the China Eye Valley Graduate School and the China Eye Valley Internet Institute, to create a new model of "talent and intelligence enclave". China Eye Valley production-education Integration Demonstration Base and college students innovation and entrepreneurship practice base was established by collaboration with five local universities including Wenzhou Medical University and Wenzhou University. It has successively won the honorary titles of Zhejiang Optometric Industry Innovation Service Complex, Zhejiang China Eye Valley Industry-Education Integration Demonstration Base, Zhejiang Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Base, Zhejiang Innovation Base of "Science and Technology Innovation in China", and National Construction project of "100 Cities and 100 Parks".

The entrepreneurship ecology is optimized to build the country's only optometric industry innovation complex. In just over a year, China Eye Valley has registered a total of 190 scientific and technological enterprises, co-built 32 research institutes with the world's top 500 and leading enterprises in the field of ophthalmology. It also promoted domestic and foreign listed enterprises such as Menicon, Shenyang Sinqi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and Berry Genomics to set up China Eye Valley branches and new listed incubation sites into production and operation. It is negotiating with Bausch & Lomb, Essilor, Euclid and other listed companies to set up operation centers in China Eye Valley, to form regional radiation advantages in the field of life and health. The two-way recruitment and education plan for high-level talents at home and abroad has been comprehensively promoted, with eleven national talents starting up businesses in Eye Valley, and 12 overseas high-level talents supporting China Eye Valley in establishing overseas offices.

Stimulate the driving force of wealth creation, to create a benchmark leading the high-quality development of life and health industry. Strategic cooperation agreements have been signed with 76 investment financial institutions such as Sinophilic Medicine Investment, Yangtze River Delta Fund and Jiurui Fund, among which 4 guide funds such as CITIC Medical Fund, Taiyue Fund, Yicun Capital and Dingyuan Investment have completed equity investment of 485 million yuan in the 5 enterprises entering the park. At the same time, China Minsheng Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Merchants Bank, Industrial Bank of China, China Citic Bank to jointly build China Eye Valley 10 Billion credit pool, further play the role of technological and financial resources to help the eye Valley industrial agglomeration.
