The China Cultural Center in Nigeria (CCCNIG) has launched a series of two-day Chinese language training courses for officials from the Nigerian National Police and Immigration Department respectively. The courses were initiated by the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria and held on during April 28 to 29 and May 5 to 6. The Chinese Embassy hopes that the courses will help promote better communication and understanding between the people of both countries.
The opening speeches were given by Mr. Hou Wenyu, the police liaison officer of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria. Embassy Counsellor Mr. Guo Zhiqiang presented the participants with their certificates of completion. The Chinese language training courses were taught by Dr. Deng Jun, a Chinese language teacher at the China Cultural Center in Nigeria.
It is said that officials from various government agencies in Nigeria, including the Nigerian Customs Service and the Airport Management Authority, will also participate in the Chinese language training program at the China Cultural Center in Nigeria over the next two weeks. The total number of participants is expected to be around 150. It is believed that after the training, Chinese citizens entering Nigeria may hear greetings such as "Hello" and "Welcome to Nigeria" in Chinese from Nigerian officials at the airport.
The officials who participated in the courses were enthusiastic about learning the Chinese language and its culture, which they believe will help them better communicate with Chinese people and promote mutual understanding. The Chinese language training program reflects the importance of cultural exchange in building bridges between nations and fostering friendly relations, and emphasizes the long-standing friendship between China and Nigeria.
