The South African national men’s football team will play the Seychelles on October 13 and Nigeria on November 17 at Johannesburg’s FNB stadium, the South African Football Association (SAFA) said on Wednesday.
These matches are Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019 qualifiers. SAFA and Stadium Management South Africa (SMSA) say the two games are crucial for the team’s qualification hopes.
“We are very excited to have Bafana Bafana play these two AFCON 2019 qualifiers at FNB Stadium. The matches are significant and important in the team’s qualification campaign. We’d like to encourage the public to attend the matches,” said SAFA general manager in football business, Russell Paul.
Bafana Bafana is the men’s national soccer team.
SAFA and SMSA have come up with financial packages for the two matches to encourage the supporters to attend the matches.
Stadium Management South Africa CEO, Dr. Jacques Grobbelaar, said they were excited that Bafana Bafana would play in front of a home crowd.
